WELCOME TO BLACK BART'S HOMEPAGE!!!!

Like most Americans, my heart goes out to all those touched by the tragedies of September 11th, 2001.   Personal web sites seem so trivial in light of current events, yet I keep hearing from our leaders to go on with our daily lives.  It is in keeping with that thought that I am updating my web site now that it is November.  When I get better grounded I will be revamping the structure of my web site and creating new content.   It is my greatest desire that these troubled times bring out the best in all of us and that we all work towards a lasting world peace.

I was in Nova Scotia on a family vacation with Garth and Mark on September 11th.  What had been a highly anticipated trip became one of the saddest times for us three.  Forty two Trans-Atlantic flights were diverted to the Halifax airport which meant that 8,000+ people suddenly had to be accommodated.  I must say that we all owe a small debt to the good will of our neighbors to the North.  There were Memorial services in essentially ever town in the province and we attended some and lighted candles in many churches.  When people we came across in cafes and so on found out that we were U.S. citizens, we received sincere condolences.  On the far side of NS on the Bay of Fundy, we ate lunch in a cafe where the owners had made lunches and baked goods to be sent to Halifax to help feed the stranded passengers.  In short, it was very humbling and moving.

In late October the 2001 International Gay Rodeo Association season came to a conclusion in Palm Springs, California at the Finals Rodeo.  I had a good time competing there and I thank all the hard working volunteers that made it possible.  My next rodeo will be in Phoenix in mid January.  Best wishes to all for a safe and happy new year!
